well catholism is very much into the praising of saints which in the end tends to take apart from the praise of God, to whom all praise should go to, also when ur catholic u pray to mary to pray for u, which is wrong (sry if i'm too blunt, but its true) b/c if u want to pray u need to pray to the right person which is the one and only true GOD. catholics also tend to just go through the motions of being "christian" and not actually having a personal relationship w/ Him. u also might notice that the word devout is almost only used w/ catholic, b/c they are more so devoted to their religion then their relationship w/ God. think about it -how many of ur catholic friends pray outside of church? and even then they might just say a rosery which if i'm not mistaken is to mary and not even God! what i believe in (being a non-denominational christian) is a close personal relationship everyday w/ God, the gifts of the spirit like praying in the Spirit (also called tounges), and living out the plan He made for my life . . . a way u can rly tell if ur rly right w/ God is by readin ur bible. if u can read a bible and totally understand it and know what it means, then great and just make sure u keep close contact w/ God, but if u read it and its like a foreign language (no matter what translation) then u probably need to give urself a check b/c ur probably not at the point u need to be w/ God. so i hope this gives u some insight. - Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6) also - So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (1 Cor 10:31)

ok so u obviously have ur opinion, and it's a strong one but u can surely tell u know nothing about catholism... praying to Virgin Mary isn't wrong , she's god's mom... and u say catholics r more devoted to their religion than to their relationship with god which isn't true, it's about having a super strong and close relationship with him, and besides what's wrong with praying outside church? it's actually good, cause it means u not only go to church and there u pray and then ur outside church and it's like god doesn't exist, u don't always have ur parents to take u to church so u can pray, u can do it whenever u want aslong as is a sincere prayer and u aren't praising urself and ur truly doing it with devotion, oh and catholics are christians but they adopt the name of catholics by meaning anyone can be a ctholic, anyone can come to a catholic church (ANYONE) the only requisite is for u to be baptized ... oh and btw u aren't supposed to judge ppl from other religions, jesus said : "whoever judges, will be judge infront of my father" oh and i'm saying absolutely anything about christianism, i'm only saying you shouldn't be judging and even without knowing the facts... oh and btw i'm a catholic and i'm proud of it!!

PS: i have no problem with any ppl who aren't catholics, they have their right to believe in whoever they want...

hula - either i didn't explain it as well as i thought, or u didn't get what i was saying - sry but it is wrong to pray to mary b/c in the bible it says that u r only supposed to pray to God and no one else b/c He is a jealous god and He would feel as though u worship someone other than Him, which is wrong. i never said prayin outside church was wrong i do it all the time frequently everyday! i meant most catholics don't pray other than when they r supposed to which in God's eyes isn't good enough. catholics may be christian, but that still doesn't mean that all christians are they same considering u have catholic christians and protestant christians (meaning all of the other denominations of christianity). well in case u haven't noticed the catholic church is discriminatory against ppl, if u don't know maybe u should pay more attention to the type of ppl @ ur catholic church. i was not judgin i was statin what i know, and i know that when i die i'm goin to party it up w/ JESUS b/c i am saved and i have a true relationship w/ GOD that is between God and myself. and btw i do know the facts b/c i suffered through religion class when i went to catholic school. and in case u haven't realised catholic religion classes only cover catholicism and thats it! nothing else. i don't jusde ppl by their religion, if ur so offensive about it maybe ur unsure about it who knows idc its ur life. and just to let u know i've got many friends who r different religions than me and many of them r like family to me - even the catholics! so i don't mean to be blunt or in ur face, but i just responded the best that i know how . . .

do u even know what ur talking about?! it doesn't seem so but anyways i won't be here wasting my time discussing about who's right or not u go on think what u want, ur free to have ur opinion, but please don't go on making generalizations ur not even sure about... i don't mean anything of this in a rude way it just bothers me hearing someone talking about something and stating things that aren't even true so yeah i got mad sorry i didn't mean to....

yea most of my guy friends r the total opposite too except for a select few who r partially like that, but r more like brothers to me

okay both of you just made me really mad, no offense given, please no offense take. but i am a born again christian, and i dont believe in speaking in tongues, i dont see that in the bible anywhere. sorry if i brught this up when you guys wanted to stop the convo, but i have to express my opinion before i burst. i believe that catholics can be christians, but you have to give up some of your beliefs such as you cant depend on yourself for salvation [look at my siggy] and you shouldnt pray to mary bcuz she is not powerful at all, just chosen by God to bear Jesus. this is what i believe and if you have any questions, please just ask. i will thoroughly explain to the best of my ability without forcing my religion, and without being harsh and yelling in your face. thanks for reading this if you have, and i'll continuously pray for you guys to come to the realization that God is the one true way.

iheartwill - everything u said is what i said in different words and the fact that i believe in tongues considerin i speak them, read the last chapter in mark - more specifically Mark 16:15-20 believe me they r real! would u like me to pray for u to, so that u may recieve the Holy Spirit and experience tongues for urself? let me know
